Does anyone know if the Flatracer rearsets (http://flatracer.com) are compatible with a gs500f? Or does anyone have any other options that the CBR F2/3?.

Thanks!

Raask: they have ones for the GS500. I have a set. You can see threads where I moved one hole. Otherwise nice. Not much in installation instructions. A little more aggressive than stock, not as aggressive as Gimbel. Search my postings and pix for a pix that shows the difference in all of them.

Tarozzi: This company says they make them - but are totally clueless that they are not for the GS500E or F from 1989+. They seem to be for the 70's GS500E. I showed them photos of that they sell and our GS500 with the bolts circled to show they don't fit. They said "We can see nothing wrong". That's Italian attitude.

Another one available is German company Gimbel. Those are really nice. Love that German engineering. See threads & pix where I have them on Junior. Also weak installation instructions. Like they use of a pressure sensor banjo bolt for the brake light. (You could use that same sensor on any bike. Replaces banjo bolt on the master cylinder.)

Those are the only rear sets available that I've found that are a direct replacement. Woodcraft is not available any more. They would make some if they had 6 or more orders.

some great info adidas!

when i look @ tarozzi's site they show models for gs500E 89+ and a model for the earlier model gs5's.

500/550:

500E:

they show different components, but can't really tell if they will fit the newer gs's

adidas - didn't realize you actually bought the tarozzi's.. found yer old thread on pwnriders, i guess this 100% confirms they don't fit:

Take my word for it about Tarozzi - THEY DO NOT FIT!
Bought 2 sets - sent them photos and they can't see anything wrong. Wasted $500. Dumped them for $100.
AVOID TAROZZI! They are IDIOTS!

(Looks like someone updated the WIKI based on what I have posted last year.)

For reference, here are the 3 brake mounts on top of each other (yes, there is a snickers in there so they all were parallel to each other.)
You can see the difference in the rear brake peg position. The top plate is stock - the peg is on the U piece and the rear hole is the brake pedal pivot. On Raask (middee) and Gimbel (bottom) the peg and pedal are mounted on the same hole which is the far left hole on each bracket. You can see there will be a difference in feel first because of position and second, the levers are physically shorter because of the mounting positions, but are the same distance from the peg.

One thing you may have to do is add a bumper to the center stand so it is a little lower when in the up position (there is no safety switch on the center stand). On Raask, the foot lever of it is very close to the new position of the shift lever, depending on how you adjust it. On Gimbel, the peg & shifter being further back, it is between the peg and shift lever. I had to lower mine a little. When I changed exhausts on Junior, the exhaust automatically had a lower center stand bumper so the center stand foot lever was not in the way of the Gimbel peg and foot shift lever.

Here you can get the idea:

One other note: Gimbel uses a pressure switch banjo bolt. Need to drain fluid to put on. I do like it.
Raask uses your present switch but it gets moved. Kind of klutzy how they do that but you don't have to drain brake fluid to put on Raask. I do plan to get another pressure switch and install that. probably on my stock set on Suzi. I like the idea of a pressure switch rather than a physical switch.

Thanks for the help, Ordered the SM Type 2 bars and the Gimbel rearsets. I found the Gimbel rearsets allot cheaper on ebay than on the website.

Who is selling them right now? I haven't seen them there for a while. I believe Gimbel used to be bikeparts87.

Ok. That is them. I don't know why some searches didn't show them. I bought all my stuff from them.
