It might have been an Elite 250... they are capable of 75-80 mph or it was a 15 mph zone she was riding in and doing 30...heh....

didnt think the Elite came as a 250, knew it came as a 50 and i think had a 100, i know the Honda Helix has the 250cc thumper in it, it will cruise about 80 without much of a problem, they handle pretty damn good.

The chase happened only about 10 miles from where I live.

The cops ran into each other!

It was funny as hell, but I didn't think anyone from out of the county would ever hear about it.  None of the other local papers picked up the story.

the silver wing was the old honda CX 500 water cooled transverced v twin with shaft drive, the naked ver was just CX, but they would dress them up with ferrings and saddle bags like the goldwings of the time and they dubed it the silver wing.  now, the newer Helix type modle may be called the silverwing, being the CX hasnt been made in some time.

Shiit Brother...  I dont know if you read my post a few months back.
If you haven't let me quickly fill you in.  Anyway, I got a ticket leaving my buddies house and the cop was the biggest fuucking duck to me.  Anyway, I still had another 15 min ride before I could get home.  I saw a buddy from high-school on the way back, he was driving his dad's M3.  He got on it and I did too.  He took his turn and I decided I wouldnt let off the throttle right away since I was fixing to get to the fun roads.
Well I pass a cop (it's like midnight, so it's dark outside i didnt see him til the last minute), I'm running like 35mph over the posted speed limit.  The son of a Buddha Loves You slams on his brakes and makes a (very fast) 3 points turn to come after me

  FUCKK!!!!  I didnt start off with the intention of running but I thought I could get out of the way before the cop had time to turn around.  NO!  The cruiser is like 50 yards behind me and hauling major ASS.  I kept trying to keep my cool, but damn.  We hit twisties which help me shake him off, and i suppose that the GS could accelerate faster than his car.

I got home fine!


--------BUT LET ME TELL YOU THIS--------

I heard a few stories from fellow riders about running from cops...   I glorified all of them in my head.  The truth is that if you do this, it'll probably be the scariest moment of YOUR LIFE!!!

When i got home I could bearly talk I was shaken so much.  I ran like every scenario thru my head:
 -Did they get my plate?
 -Do they have a video?

I even thought crazy shiit like:
 -Did the cop wreck trying to catch me?
 -They may have followed from a distance to find out where I live.

I didn't fall asleep until like 5AM, I was so freaked out!

The feeling (the one that could make you shiit in your pants if you had a second to stop and think about it) will hit you when you see the cop car behind you with its blue lights on, driving like he's in the Winston Cup, only he's not trying to win, he wants to kick your ass then throw you in jail!!!!

Not to mention the fact that you could wreck and fuuck yourself up and even die!!!!

I have never run from the cops, but... I havnt told a single person this... I was riding along a majot street in Calgary, going about 95km/h when a car in the lane beside me decided to side swipe me. So I laid into my horn and he figured out I was there before he hit me. When he and his 5 friends in the car did see me, the driver swerved, fishtailed, spun around, and ditched the car hard into a fence. I said "f%$k it" and dropped a couple gears and peaced out. A car tried chasing me, but to no avail. I left him so far back it was ridiculous. I was scraed they got my plate and shaZam! too. I didnt care that much though. Guy cant drive, doesnt pay attention, and thast a damn shame.

I have a good friend that has a hopped up '98 GTP with ~400hp.  He has ran from the cops without them stopping him 5 or so times.  BUT two times they did get witnesses that could point him out.  First time, one yr probation and 50hrs sheriff work detail.  Second Time, 30 days in jail, one year probation, about 20 points on his license, revoked license. (and that was a plea bargain with original charges at 7+ years in prison)

Just because you get away dont mean that someone didnt see you.

Moral of the story; make damn sure there arent any witnesses when you run.  :lol:

I work as a cop in Minnesota. In MN fleeing is a felony. Combine that with very liberal PIT policies it just isnt worth it. Take the traffic ticket and suck it up. Dont risk your ass and somebody elses bacause you dont want your insurance to go up because of a speeding ticket!
