rim compatibility

I have searched but have not found what I am looking for. I want to buy black rims for my bike to replace the white ones. I was looking on ebay and found some but were for a newer bike. Like a 2006-2008. I have a 1989. On ebay it only says 2004-2009. Is that correct or can they be used on my bike also.

All rims the same.
The different years refer to what color they were that year (usually).

There are white, silver, gun metal gray and black.
I like the gun metal. Junior has that.
