Hey All,

Unfortunately my bike rolled off its side stand last night  >:( (still dont know for sure why it did it, kick the stand twice to make sure it was fully down as always. Maybe she was tired and hot so she felt like having lay down in the puddle  :dunno_black:)

Damage was minimal. curly clutch lever, indicator pushed through fairing (fairing are starting to annoy me agin now, should have gone naked) and I noticed on the ride into work this morning the clutch side of the bars was slightly bent down and pushed towards me.

So long story short i've fixed the indicator and got a replacement clutch lever coming, however I was looking at which handlebars to get. I thought the OEM style was pretty good and was wondering what my aftermarket choices are. According to when the wiki article was written BikeMaster Superbike bars were the closet to stock but was wondering if anyone knows of anything that may have come out recently that was closer.

Could always get another OEM bar but the US sites are charging atleast $70 so here in Aus it'll probably be atleast $150  :o

Thanks everyone

What I replaced mine with.
Pretty cheap and more of a forward position then OEM tho.

was a lil different at first but got used to them quick and enjoy them more then OEM.

Tho yes u asked for OEM, just a lil suggestion.

Still got my OEM bars tho.
pretty sure the right side of them is Very slightly bent, or else its just my right hand position.
as my right hands pointer finger seemed to always be on the top of the inside of the hand grip.
where as my left hand is flush on the grips.

I gotta check again to see if they are or not.

Hey all has anyone ordered anything from Power Sports Plus before??

@Tombstone I thought about the drag bars but I do alot of touring so it might get uncomfortable quickly. Thanks for the suggestion

Phone around the bike wreckers. The few I've been to in Adelaide all seem to have some gs500 stuff.

I got a set that look close to the originals, Ventura brand from local bike shop. Just picked them by eye and don't have a model or number to give you, sorry. Cost $55.

ohgood

wreckers, $10 tops, and you can get 4-5 pair to try for the price of retail. so long as they're 7/8" and not ape hangers...  O0

The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?
