I think we already covered that angle.

I wouldn't say this bike has more than enough power.  I'd say it has just enough for it to be a good road bike.  A little tiddler commuter bike could get by with less but it wouldn't be nearly as good an everyday bike as the GS is.  Do I wish sometimes that this bike had more kick in the pants?  Sure, but it wouldn't be what it is the rest of the time, a bike that fits my life very well.  That said, if you want more power go for it but you know it'll cost a lot more bread and danger rises with speed.  On the other hand, you could get more power for not much money if you can find a decent old GS750.  If you did that the GS gods would be happy with you as well!

Precisely.

Busa riders need to belittle others who didn't be like them. Expect it. It comes with riding a Busa. just know this...

GS500, only for those who have nothing to compensate for

There is nothing like riding naked twins

Some fuktards at work have tried to belittle my bike. Call it a moped and the like. Don't fight against them, agree with them and take away all their ammo.... Moped, are you kidding me, I dream of having the power of a moped. Moped pass me all the time. I'm barely as fast as a postie bike. I'd give you a ride but the power would underwhelm you. You get the idea.

Other thing is ask em how much their last service was.
Some say that he submitted a $20000 expense claim for some gravel

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.

Yes true,
He also has to ride to Brisbane from here and leave his bike to be serviced.
They give him a GS to ride for the day while they service it.

Some bikes look good, there's nothing you can do about that. I fall in love with 04-07 cbr600rrs every time I look at them all over again, but I know it's not the bike or me. I'd love to take one for a ride, and I think they're amazing looking bikes, but you've just gotta keep control of your brain and be logical about it.

There's more to bigger bikes than just HP. If that's all it was, superbike races would be done on 150hp bikes that still had the same frame/suspension/bodywork of the 1989 GS500. Anywhere from the superficial things like the styling, to the reduced weight, upgraded suspension, digital controls, fuel injection. They're just all around cool bikes. Thing about the EX250. The new ninja250 is the same exact bike as the old one aside from the newer bodywork, but it's definitely way cooler than the old one and it has nothing to do with HP. I guarantee you that if they made the GS500 look like a gsxr and put a 170 rear tire on it it would automatically be bumped up the desirability scale. Even my YZsumo only has 45hp and it's all the fun I could ever need, even if the GS never really did it for me.

J_Walker

^ People just need something flashy, I think if someone really worked on the GS500. bumped it to lets say, a safe 70 HP, threw some flashy fairings on it. digital clocks. People would be like. That's one hot bike. Now.. this is based off the same frame and everything the GS500f had. Just with new plastics maybe a new seat style and new engine. Nothing different. I say if you wan't a pretty bike. and want the GS500f, Go buy the pretty fairings you like. Slap them on the GS500. Of course you'd ruin what ever fairings you got for your bike. but its very well possible.

my gs IS one hot bike. dunno what people are thinking. i love its looks
