I sold my GS in May 2011 to another newbie, and told him about GSTwin.com but I haven't seen him in here...but still hanging around and providing useless information...hehehe

I haven't been able to ride since September 11th this year...I crashed my new toy and the wifey won't let me spend a dime on it until after Xmas...

But I will continue my crash thread once the "Dept of Homeland Spending" gives the "fine, whatever...", I mean the go ahead!!  :icon_mrgreen:

Later.

Mine just got its annual bath (no kidding), oil change, air filter, spark plugs, valve adjust, chain lube, new battery, fuel with Stabil, and hook-up to the battery tender; but necessairly for the duration of winter -- we get some odd warm days in December through February.

Madjak30,

I hate to say it but you know you won't have crashed if you were on your GS...lol JK :flipoff:

i just got to ride into work today for the first time in.. seems like many weeks.
It decided to rain for the month of november, in "sunny california".

There are only a few days I can ride, and lately, even when it wasnt actively raining.. the roads were "damp", and I wasnt feeling very confident.

Also, even on the days when I think to myself, "Hey, I've got a completely waterproof jacket", I worry that I would have to start worrying about rust issues. Right now, my bike is always kept warm and dry in my garage or parking structure. never outside.

You're probably right...because I woundn't have planned a trip that long on that bike...my knees and butt wouldn't have made it that far... :icon_razz:

I will probably have another GS in the stable in the next few years (daughter will be riding, but is only 13 right now)...until then I will just pester you guys and secretly pyne for my old reliable GS...

because there seems to be less traffic/threads in here than there use to be.
Are people out riding their bikes or have they sold them and moved on?
It seems to me that there are about 12 regular posters on here and the threads have slown to a snail pace.

Looks pretty busy to me ghost.
68 reply's in just a few days.
We all riding our GS's and what ever else we own, (when the snow lets us).
Well, other than MadJack30, who I'm sure will make a comeback!  :thumb:

I've gotta change my riding status. Bike is currently blocked in by all my tools etc from my move.
Some say that he submitted a $20000 expense claim for some gravel

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.

Well,
I think this was a good thread to get an update on what everyone is doing and also to help those who normally don't post break the ice and make a post.

My hats off to all of you who posted. Checkout the odd's and ends section for another good post on

"what do you doe for a living"

Fun threads that let the club/forum get to know one another.

One day I'd like to set a meeting place where we could all try to get together and meet up with all you GSer's

The Big Meetup might be a tough one, since we aren't all on the same continent...never mind in the same country...but it can't hurt to try I guess  :dunno_black:

I wouldn't mind a good excuse to make a trek down to the States next summer...but it might be a hard sell for the wifey...you know the results from my last three day road trip...

or maybe you don't...

But who knows, maybe she'll be over it in 8 months... :embarrassed:

Still ride daily. Sunshine, rain, heat, cold, wind...doesn't matter. Commute to work, run errands, rail twisties, and ride chill on the slabs. It's all good. Matter of fact, I still don't understand why riders hate the rain, especially here in Cali. Why be stuck in traffic caging it when you can ride through traffic on the bike and get to your destination while everyone else is just sitting there? Most bike accidents don't happen during the rain, but on those "sunny, and perfect" days. IMO O0

Sold mine about 6 years ago and bought a 650 VeeStrom.

Bought a 1994 GS500e with girl friend last week.  I'll be catching up on a bit of neglected maintenance before laying her up for the winter.  Ummm, the bike that is....

Cool beans man!
I have the fat ugly sister to your sexy Wee-Strom, a DL1000k6.
It's amazing that two bikes that are so similar can be so incredibly different.
Good to see your back on a GS500 too.  :thumb:

Come to think of it...  I kinda' wish my Vee ran as sweet as my GS.  :icon_neutral:

DL1000's never ran as good as DL650's  :dunno_black:
I had my Wee Dyno'd/remapped and it runs even better than it did out of the box....and it ran great out of the box!

I'm still riding almost daily. While it doesn't get tooo cold here in Phoenix, we've had a few days where its in the 30s in the morning while riding in. Had to zip in my jacket liners (Tourmaster Intake 2), buy new gloves (Bilt Hurricane), and buy a neck cover (Freeze Out Body Shield). That and some wool socks and I'm good to go.
My ride:
2009 GS500F stock....for now.
