im not sure what exactly happened... i went over a small speed bump and gave a little gas and next thing you know the bike is sputering like its about to choke when you stall out... so i gave it some more gas and nothing happened. Kept going down the road back to my house, from the gas station (just filled up) and i can give it almost full throttle and nothing really happens.

The bike just sputters and goes no where, almost like its starving for fuel. The thing is it was working fine until i put the gas in it and hit that bump.

I should mention that i manage to run out of fuel the other day, so could that mean that one of my jets is just clogged up???

thanks as always..

ghostrider_23

Pull the fuel line off each of the carbs or on the other side of the petcock. Fuel should run out of the hose, if not than maybe there's something in the tank or the petcock is bad. If fuel comes out of the hose than you know you're getting fuel to the carb and you can look else where.

lol i hate you stevo... jk but you want to collaborate??

Dizzledan

Maybe the vacuum line on the carbs got disconnected? Maybe one of your spark plug wires came loose?

Maybe you got bad gas and it's clogging up your tank filter?

Take ghostrider_23's advice and make sure you have proper flow to the carbs, then take my advice and see if you really filled up with gasoline/petrol  :dunno_black:

You my want to check the screen in the tank if your flow is low?
Running a tank dry makes the screen pick up all the crap in the bottom of the tank, you filling up may have stirred up all the crap for the chaos to begin? I filled a CJ5 up with 3/4 of a tank of water from a local station...it can happen

ight i just took the whole damn thing apart and put this back together... turns out a small piece of rtv sealant that i used came lose from where i put to much of it on there to seal a small leak that i had.

it was stuck in the main jet i believe.. the one in the middle that sucks in gas.

i cleaned it out, and just started her and shes running like a champ again lol.. but i cleaned and checked both pet cocks and all my jets. also adjusted my float bowls since i was already in there. to lat tonight to take it for a ride plus i had a few cold ones while i was working. but ill let you know tomorrow when i take her for a ride.

mister- yes i did try "on,prime, and res" they were all the same but it was a clogged jet this time lol

thanks again dudes

Great news!
I used to use Teflon Tape on fuel line fittings until a hunk of it got stuck on the back side of a needle valve seat stopping all fuel flow (automotive)...needless to say I only use it for plumbing around the house now  :thumb:

Blues Clues. I get it... the show has a puzzle with clue left behind marked with paw prints. So the "just filled up" was the clue, right? HA, and it turns out it was something else Should have been the clue but wasn't mentioned in the original puzzle.

So, what's the GI Joe Quote?

Why people insist on using (and recommending using) that shaZam! beats me. Imagine if instead of being a carb and jet it was an engine and an oil gallery  :dunno_black:

Miss those cartoons, shows these days have nothing on them like Bugs bunny & the road runner show (early 80's)

This is a better one, you need to watch & listen to this:
