In the USA, motorcycle racing is a benificiary of Nascar since several AMA events are staged at Nascar facilities which m/c racing could never hope to support--including Daytona.  I think it's a weak case to imply that Nascar hurts m/c TV coverage by draining away all the sponsorship dollars when Speed's Two-Wheel Tuesday was a ratings flop.  Sure Nascar's boring.  F1's boring too.  Indy's interesting on occasion but only because the drivers are always on verge of careening into the wall and killing themselves and unlucky spectators on every lap.  But, then, I haven't been able to sit through any of the 250GP races I taped off Speed either.  A repititious procession of faceless Europeans whose names and rankings always escape me.  I certainly wouldn't expect any non-motorcylce enthusiasts to find it interesting.

Never implied that NASCAR takes away from motorcycle sponsorship.  Dave said something to the effect that the sponsorship money was being monopolized by stock car racing, and making life more than difficult for other auto racing leagues.  Not a word said about motorcycles.  I think the show topic at the moment was about how badly CART was hurting.

sounds good to me.  I'd watch that.  Even if they still only went in a circle.  the new GTO would clean up in a series like that.
