Since I moved to my current home 4.5 years ago I've wanted a garage. Firstly the council made it to hard then the first child came, then it became a cost thing. Well now finally I'm getting my garage built. Its not my dream garage but it will do.

The garage is a 6m x 7m long design. Comes off the back of my slightly lopsided carport (I put the carport up in a rush several years ago and that's how it stayed. It will feature two windows, one door and a single double roller door.

Finally I will have a decent workshop, the bike will have somewhere to fully live out of the weather, the Mk2 Escort will have somewhere to stay and when the zed comes home it will go inside to live there and forever be modded.

Here are some pics of the build so far. Tried to get photos from roughly the same angle each time.

Lets start at the beginning. Here is how it first looked.

Little crappy shed came down.

Then they came through, ripped the ground asunder and formed up.

Here is the dog prowling her disturbed territory in my bikes normal resting area.

And here is the driveway I've been contending with each morning and afternoon for the last week and a half.

Then the slab came.

And the bike lined up to eye it off.

The timber arrived for the frame and the crew sort of started to put it together in the rain.

Taking up my parking space with their timber and valuable turning around room.

And now the skeleton is erected. Praise the lord! Well praise the garage building mob anyway.

Now its starting to look allot like Christmas, well a garage at least.

And this will be the view out the window of my garage where I think the work bench will go.

More pics to come as the garage keeps getting built.

WOW that is nice. I have owned 2 houses and the best I got was a half car garage. I'm hoping my third will have one or enough land and space to get back there to build one. With a garage like that, you have reached ultimate manness  :thumb:

The car port in the pic is actually a two car carport that I modified to suit the entry and some other requirements. So its like a 1.5 carport now. I'll be attaching the leg in the middle of the roller door to the front of the garage once It's finished.

Speaking of finished it should be to a lock up stage by the time I get home today. *fingers crossed*

The siding went up yesterday.

The bike got stuck living out the front, no shelter for it for a couple of days.

And finally the doors and roof went on. Now its a garage

Now all I need is my driveway done and a ramp to go between the carport cement and the garage. They are two different heights mostly due to the fact the carport is old cement that is badly slopped.

When I get home I'll post the mud map I've got for what I'm doing. I've not got it at work with me but yes I think I've used up all the space with nothing left over already. :D.
I was in there Saturday morning with chalk drawing on the concrete working out what I wanted. I think it will work provided I can fit all right.
My old 4mx4m garden shed is going to be attached to the back of the garage as long term storage so I shouldn't have the issue of the wife trying randomly jam things into the garage to get it out of the house.

Is it a GARAGE or a BIKE CAVE or a MAN CAVE?

PS: I'm really happy with the Gladiator Gear Wall stuff. Very durable. Watch for sales on it at Sears or other places.

Shaddow

Well here is my mud map.

And adidasguy it is somewhere between a man cave and a garage. Its for both my project car (When it eventually comes home) and my bike plus a workshop and a gym

Congrats on the new garage! I really liked the photos - thanks!

Well I've mostly moved into the shed and below are proof pictures. Still haven't run power, or hung up all the bags. As you can see from my picture I've left room for the bike an one car to go into the garage and that is it. Also my driveway has been completed. I'm feeling a little greek with the amount of concrete that has gone in there. Half my front yard is now driveway.

Also as a complete side note to my own thread. Brought home the new run about last night. Having finally sold my Mazda 626 I needed a second car for the times I might need to go pick up my son or carry something. Meet Phil my 1979 Mk2 Ford Escort. Phil has race style buckets in the front. Koni suspension on all four corners. Ford Focus RS 16 inch rims. Freshly rebuilt brakes with cross drill rotors on the front. A 2Litre Pinto engine with a single 32/36 weber (that will have to change) and a 3 speed manual shift auto. There are still a few things on him before he can be registered but thats him in a nut shell.
