'Preciate it!!

Doubt I'll pull the t2i out until next week though. I have a 4 day shredcation this coming up Thursday, so work will be my main task for these 3 short days

Gotta work hard to play harder!

Went to the post on lunch. The certified letter came back unopened!! but with an insufficient address stamp

Never got an apartment number, so kind of at a dead end on that.

Took some wind from the sail, but still have the vehicle history report!

My motivation is high on these projects, but my time is at an all time low.. It's starting to really get to me. It's been too long since I had a good chunk of time to wrench. A warm summer weekend with nothing but moto's on the schedule sounds like a dream!

My check for the vehicle history report was finally cashed!! That will tell me without a doubt if I can get this damn thing titled. Should hear back from that in the next few weeks.

shooting with a canon t2i. the photos in this thread were with my fixed 50mm. check out the video i post of the first startup, i have a clip recorded with the fixed 50 as well my sigma 10mm fisheye.

That's the later version of the Rebel T1i right? I have the old Rebel XTi.

I bought Sigma's f/1.4 50mm lens, and on our cameras, that's more like an 80mm. Paid $499 for it and then later sold it for $400 on Craigslist.

I love my Rebel. Too bad it doesn't shoot video...oh well.

Got her up and running pretty well. Swapped the coil off the 04 and she seemed enjoy it.  I got her warmed up and drove around the neighborhood a couple times.  Will be ordering some new coils here soon. Other than that going to hold off on working on it anymore until I am certain I can title it.

I finally received the vehicle history report. It had be sold a few times, I'm the 4th owner. Excited that it has no liens, and it registered to the PO's older brother just as he said. Just one more letter to send, and this long road to title will be over. Not sure it will end good or bad, but I'm hopeful.

Yep xti -> t1i -> t2i -> t3i

that's sick! i went with the canon model f1.4 50mm. my sigma f2.8 10mm fisheye is insanely good. oh man you are definitely missing out with no video.

I AM DYING not being able to wrench on a gs. By the end of next week I will be at the end of the road on my title chase. I'm still pretty certain i will be able to get a title for this parts bike i've dubbed Gabby, but there's still things that can go wrong.

Looking into another parts bike if my current frame is unable to be titled. Have a couple good picks for full gsF parts bike at reasonable prices. So this ~130 mile on the beast will roll down the road again!

With only paint and a few small items left to get to complete my dream gs. Once I get a titled frame all this pile of pretty bits will begin to take shape.

See my old 2004 gsF project thread for photos of stack of parts to be bolted on:

Tax return's in! Thinking of getting a few thing to help in my parts bikes/projects. Going to get some extra fuel line, a motion pro auxiliary tank, compression gauge, and set of deep well metric sockets.

Ask and ye shall receive!

Her current state:

Title game is coming to a close. My certified letter has passed its 15 day waiting period, and should be on its way back to me now. I've burned too much time waiting on CA's vehicle history report and now with this certified letter. I've missed my deadline on the process I'm taking through the DMV.. so another waiting period, but this time i've got the drz to keep my occupied. After this waiting period(20 days, i believe) and with the certified letter in hand, I will have my title.

They feel too good! I get a grip on it every time i walk through the shop haha

20 more days.  So in 3 weeks you'll have the bike ready to ride, right?

Might be able to go riding after work tomorrow if your interested.

Be aware, this is not very wise advise!

adidasguy

So have you decided on a paint scheme?
How about this.....

Slack

It should be Orange and black stripes, not white.  The GS is a Predator, not prey

Ready to ride now slack! i've got the D'arcy my deezer to keep me grinnin on the roads. Doubt I could handle the seat for a snowshoe trek, but have been getting some miles put down around town. Any afternoons looking good around here, give me a shout for sure

haha don't think i could stomach a zebra stripped gs! but damn that fender is insane looking!!

I'll be continuing my dream scheme that i had planned for the '04:

starting to make up my mind on paint! i'm the worst at making decisions when i have such a wide range of choices

i found a ~2002 for sale across the pond with almost the exact scheme i've been picturing. only differences is mine will have; an oil cooler of course, dual headlights w/ small screen, white wheels, jardine will get black exhaust wrap, and i'm thinking the full suzuki decal w/ no stripe on tank. haven't made up my mind on the tail fairing decals yet..

quick chop w/o decals:

I'm with you on that. Blegh...it would be hard to make that scheme look good on something with tons of fairings like the Hayabusa, let alone a naked GS. And the wheels too? Jeeze what was that dude thinking??

As an aside...that blue scheme looks amazing. Now I wish I had a blue bike.  :technical:

Thank Kijona! I'm excited to get this damned title, or a title-able frame. I want use all these parts i've been saving for, dreaming of, and spending my money on for months haha

Still waiting for my certified letter to come in. Was supposed to have a 15 day waiting period then it would be mailed back to me.  Here we are at 23+ days since the first delivery attempt.  Called the USPS office last week and got a nonchalant, "oh yeah we mailed our returned cert letters back yesterday" Another 4 days past and still no update on my tracking number.

Its ok though, as i can't rush until 3/26 which is the end of my next waiting period through the DMV.

Slowly getting closer to knowing if i can or can't title the current frame.

As a backup plan, i've got 2 more parts bikes lined up. Going to pick them up this weekend. A 96 and and 89 both stripped to frame. The 96 has a good titled frame and engine. The 89 has untitled frame and bad engine, but a set of beautiful triple and OG Clip-ons. If this current frame isn't title-able i'll swap all parts onto titled frame.  If my current frame works out- I'll either part the basket case bikes out, or find the time and motivation to build another!

EDIT- typo'd.. the 96 has the good engine and frame w/ 16k on the clock. the 89 has bad engine and a straight frame, but untitled.
