hey would anyone know why every now and then when giving a little stick to gs, it pops out of second gear. it only happens when pushing it, will change into  2nd, grab for a second or two then all of a sudden jump into neutral. it annoying and just little embarrassing as it usually only happens around town when have to use lower gears. any explanations and/or cures for this would be appreciated.
Going fast in a straight line is easy, how fast you go in corners shows how good you really are.

Two things possible here. Either you need to put slightly heavier oil in your bike or you need to be more firm on the up-shift. Mine does this too if I tap the shifter instead of actually giving it a good lift.

Could also be a sign you need to CHANGE your oil. ;)

One other thing...maybe check your chain tension.

My gut says check your clutch cable and make sure it's adjusted properly. The next step up (from personal experience) would be to adjust your drive chain tension (1.5" from top to bottom). I had a loose chain and tightening it made a night to day difference in my shifts.

tricky

This happened to me once and a while, I solved it by using a heavier foot, like Kijona said

so i don't need to be worried about worn gears or something drastic like that. oil was changed recently, was bout halfway between marks on dipstick to so...............

It's not always about Fresh oil but Type of oil.

I was getting false neutrals until I changed to Motul 5100. None since. And now I use Motul 300v (costs your 1st born to get it) I have Real smooth gear changes and can even move the bike in gear with clutch in, when it is cold. So keep that in mind. If you had issues and changed oil for the same oil but fresher, you shouldn't expect anything different than you already had.

Yeah mine will pop out of gear sometimes if I give it a little baby tug. You gotta kick that shifter UP!
