Carb needles

Hi,



Here is a pic of my carb needles. Can you tell me if these look stock? (for an aussie bike) and where to put the washer (top groove, bottom? if one is needed for this needle which looks to have clips).

I am very green in the ways of carbs.

This is for a Jardine, Lunchbox and 20/65/147.5.

I have a very similar set up. 2006 Aussie delivered GS500F, Yoshi slip-on, K&N lunchbox and currently 20-65-147.5 jets.
Your needles are factory with 5 grooves for the Aussie bikes.
No need for washers or o-rings. Move the e-clip to the fourth position down. Factory as in your photo is in the third groove. I found cruise lean and a bit surgy until I raised the needles one groove. Response and torque around 4-5K noticeably improved.
Although I think my midrange is now a bit rich with 65 mids and raised needles and am waiting on 62.5's to try out. Currently she picks up again at WOT above 7-8k when she comes onto the main jet. All a bit of a balancing act and trial and error. Good luck with it

From the top. Move the clip one grove lower towards the tapered end.

And yes mitch is right
Move clip towards the tapered end to richen, away to lean, and that O ring from the pack I sent you - you dont need it, so ignore it.
