I can't understand the"not for US market" except for things like the Speedo (KM vs MILES) and maybe some engine stuff for emissions. Then there are the california parts for their really strict emissions.
I think this weekend I'll sort parts and examine the brake calipers in detail. Put the ones I don't want in a box and offer them for shipping only. Got waaaayyyyy too many of them around. Found a few front master cylinders, too. Even a Kat triple and coule sets of bars. I guess I'm just a parts whore, plain and simple.
I will study and photo the different calipers so we have a photo catalog for reference. My curiosity is all fired up like a flock of fleas on a wet dog.

Mine too, hard to drop someting like this without an answer particularly since winter has just really set in here with below freezing highs and heavy snow and there is much spare time for a while.   :icon_sad:

Be particularly interesting if you have a low milage rear caliper with oem pads from an F bike and a pre F bike rear to compare and see if you can see the difference in them.  Besides the different pads they had different part numbers for the piston and seal sets, different diameters or different materials maybe?
407,400 miles in 30 years for 13,580 miles/year average.  Started riding 7/21/84 and hung up helmet 8/31/14.

For what it's worth... I strongly recommend running the EBC EPFA231HH (AKA Extreme Pro) on the GS500. It's an extremely predictable pad, with a good progressive brake force, incredible stopping power, and excellent life. With those pads, a 96+ (or SV650) brake caliper, the GS will stop just as well as any dual rotor bike.

In fact, it's actually a better solution than running dual rotors - rotors and calipers are quite heavy, so sticking to a single rotor reduces un-sprung weight, rotational inertia, and gyroscopic resistance.

Sounds like late night infomercial:

"We have a very limited surplus amount of these high quality pads, and are selling these at below cost to make room for our aircraft brake parts. You cannot go wrong, once they are gone, there will be no more."

They have 2 for sale. how much rook can that take up on a shelf?
