I have a 94 GS500. Been riding it about six months. Lately when I ride it, it wants to stall out. When I'm come to a stop if I don't throttle up it will cut off. Any idea what to check so I can try and fix it?

Had the same problem, with an 05. tho. Have you topped it out recently? Like -WHOOHOO MAX TURBO SPEED!!- if so. Check your Float height, I did this, and for some reason my floats got i'll adjusted.. Just a hint to. Other thing is idle adjustment screw came loose, little plastic thing hangs off your carbs, don't need to remove anything. just turn the screw in/out to find the right idle speed. should be 1,200RPM if I remember correctly.

The very first thing you can do is try adjusting the throttle stop (idle) screw. It's sticking downwards from between the carbs with a flower-petal type head on it. Tightening it will increase idle speed, loosening will decrease. If this has little to no effect, or if you start experiencing a "hanging idle", you know that you have an air leak. What I mean by "hanging" is that the motor will take forever to "rev-down".

Another very simple and easy thing to check is the spark plugs. Take them out and replace them. Autozone carries the correct ones and I believe they're $2.50 a piece.

Another thing is to check to see if your air filter is dirty or clogged.

Let us know if the simple things don't fix it.

Good luck.
