SOLD: 3 Gas Tanks 2 89-00 one 2001+

I have this one. Needs painting. Has a small dent at the right front, you can see. Should be easy to bond-o it or leave it. It's not that big. $75 + postage
Inside has only slight surface rust. Still wet with gas. Shouldn't need coating for many years to come. No outer rust, so no indication of deep rust going all the way through. Was from a running bike.


Gas cap key is busted open when I got it. I removed the gas cap since it would need replacing. Does not have fuel valve or seat bracket - use those from your existing tank. Might have extras of those if you need them.

3 tanks for sale.
2004: painted fugley black. Don't see any dents. VERY clean inside. Has tank petcock still in (and some old gas - I'll dump it out) $125 obo +postage. What looks like dents is dust on the crappy textured paint (yes, I did say textured. WTF?) Inside looks really good, almost new, when viewed with flashlight.



YELLOW: Minor dent can easily fixed or even as is, not very noticeable after you repaint it. Pretty good inside. Some rust, but doesn't look serious. Should be good for years. $75 obo + postage. Gas cap is not included. If you need keyed gas caps, I have complete sets of ignition, gas cap and seat lock. Just ask.
Much of what looks like rust really looks like varnish from gas sitting in it. In person it looks much better.



BLUE: has some dents, but not so bad that you can't easily patch them when you paint it. Or polish and use as is. Original paint. Pretty nice inside. $65 obo + postage
Same here - looks better in person. Looks like slight rust and a film of varnish stuff from gas sitting it for years. Definitely looks better in person with a flashlight looking inside.

What are the chances of that black tank not having any dents under the paint?Can you see any bondo through the paint?Also,I am sending you a PM.

Tank looks and feels good. Whole bike was painted fugley black. and I mean REALLY BAD FUGLEY. Was blue, as I can see the under side. 2004 as I recall.

Got your name on that tank and the blue one. I think the dents in the blue one can easily be filled in. Looks like a bar end hitting it in a drop.

Let me know if anything else you need. I gotta sell parts or the whole GStwins crowd will be doing an intervention on my parts whoring habit. But hey, how often do I ever see a deal in Seattle for GS500 stuff?

congrats on the sales! i'm a bit miffed though hahah had my 2006 gsF take that's MINT condition(hardly a mark, clean no dents, zero rust) for sale for $150 shipped and i was getting low ball offers on it...

glad i didn't sell it though it's a perfect replacement for my rusted to shaZam! tank on the newest 06 parts bike
