Looks good!  Almost makes me wish I'd gotten one of those instead of the stock r1 taillight.  Almost.

Do you have any pics of the R1 install you did?  I love what codajastal did, it looks great.  But I just want the look of the lense and wanted to know if thats a straight swap for the R1?

Straight swap.  Took about 10 minutes (only because I had to find some appropriate sheet metal screws to install it with.  Mine came off an 01 (which supposedly fits a little better).  No trimming, no anything required, just screws on.

I'll get a pic of it this afternoon for you.  Greatly updates the look of the bike.

Very cool, thanks for the info.  So just to be clear, this is a straight lens swap correct?  remove stock GS tail light lens and put the R1 lens over top right?

Yep.  The stock taillight has bolts and uses nuts to secure it.  The R1 taillight needs screws.

Not Exactly the same.. but I'm using a Stock 05 tail light cover, with a cheapo LED taillight backing. With integrated LED blinkers as well.
