This saturday, I went for a canyon ride (on "The Snake", aka mulholland highway)

it really put me in mind of the "sport" aspect of riding our bikes.
Surprisingly, not because our bikes are so awesomely sporty (they are, but not the point :) ) but because of my reaction to the experience.

The first time I rode that stretch, it was following a group of guys who were very familiar with it. I was pumped up, and just "flowing" through every curve.

This time... I did not have "my head in it". (or perhaps the actual problem was, my head was TOO MUCH in it), and i was just not enjoying it. Stressed.

But.. after my 2nd pass through or so.. I finally quit stressing about it, went with it... and started having fun with it.

Good times!  Just like "warming up" in any other sport.

It's just too bad it took me most of my time up there, to get with it!  But hopefully, the experience from that time, will help me relax faster for next time

Yeh I have days like that too. Takes me awhile to get back in the groove especially if I have not ridden the bike in awhile. But that's the thing, go your own pace, relax and enjoy.

Hey I wonder if the GS will show up in one of rnickeymouse's you tube vids, hopefully not like this though -
