Bar end mirrors?

Got my bike about 4 months ago... Haven't done much to it besides have a tuned up by the mechanic. Anyway, I'm sick and tired of the buggish OEM mirrors, and I'm looking to swap them out for some bar-end mirrors.
My question: While I changed my tach and speedo lights, that is the extent of my bike mechanic knowledge. What size bar-ends do I need to get? Also, once I remove the OEM mirrors from the clutch and brake clamps, do I need to screw anything in there or do I just leave the holes where the mirrors were?

Sorry if it's a stupid question...

Thanks!

Any mirror that fits 7/8 bars will work. But be careful buying the real cheap ones off eBay as some fall apart or vibrate bad.

I had these on my GS and they worked fine. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Bar-End-Mirrors-Cafe-Racer-Tracker-Bobber-/200731184359?pt=AU_Motorcycle_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2ebc82cce7

If the shim is a little small for the bars just use some sandpaper to make up the difference. You don't have to screw anything into the mirror adapters once you remove the OEM ones.

Thanks so much for the advice!
