I am looking to buy an 04 or newer GS500F rear brake caliper. Preferably in good condition. Let me know if you have something.

Check put pinwall on ebay. They have some nearly new ones with excellent pads.
They price things by what they are, not condition, because they move so many parts.
Look at the photos. Read the mileage on them (if they knew it).
You can't beat $14.95 for an excellent 2009 caliper & pads. I buy TONS from them. Never had any problems. Parts are always clean.

Thanks. I had my bleed screw break off in the rear caliper. Then I tried to use and extractor...which broke off in the bleed screw. Now I have taken to a few shops in town and all recommend that I just replace the caliper. It seems like a $3.00 bleed screw shouldn't make you have to scrap the whole caliper.

Just bought that 09 one. Couldn't even have a shop look into fixing it for that price...

I know. You gotta love those squidly bikers that smash up their new GS500.
My best set was front and rear calipers and rotors from a bike with 240 actual miles. I felt sorry for the bike, though. Such a short life for that bike. At least it lives on with the transplants to help out older bikes live a more purposeful like for their riders.

I watch quite a few bike breakers. There are some others that are good. Strange - sometimes you can find prices so low its like they're giving away the parts and sometimes they have other parts priced close to or above OEM new parts price. Takes time to spot the real deals and avoid the over priced ones.

Yeah I watched the video that pinwall had on ebay of the 09 the parts came off of. It was pretty well totaled. It looked like they hit something head on. It is hard to look at one in that state. Well at least the brake caliper will live on on mine.

I think my 08 is trying to become an 09...I already have the 09 nose cowling on it from Adidasguy's 09 suzi...

I had that caliper on my watch list. It looks really good.

Talk about a mix of years: Phenix has parts from 1989 through 2009!

I really love the look of the cast aluminum 1989 knuckles. All my bikes are going to get them. Then, all will get their 1990's era rear shocks replaced with 2009's.

Don't you just love the compatibility of parts over the years?

I love working on the GS everything is so easy and interchangeable. I guess that's the perk of owning a model that has a 20+ year production history with few changes...I don't understand why more people don't seek out bikes like the GS...
