He told me there were a few people in front of me (I was the fourth caller) and sure enough the guy who was going to see it right before me snatched it up. I did get to see it in person though and it was in great condition. The guy who bought it was lucky. The search continues

I see by the picture the top end has been replaced - it is black and the rest of the motor is silver. Good chance it WON'T run without major work since someone has already been farkling with the motor. Gauges are cracked. Rusty dent on tank, too. Probably crashed then sat.

Hey I already posted this one a while ago!

Yes - but it was off CL for a while and just showed up again.
Its off again

Here's an odd one:

2 motorcycles for the price of one gs500 tempter 650 - $300 (olalla)
my girlfriend bought these bikes while i was at work yesterday and they are to much work for me to handle the tempter 650 only needs a starter and probably a new gas tank due to rust doesnt run but engine seems fine the gs 500 has a lot more issues motor isnt seized up though 300 buys them both. firm i have to get my money back you could probabl part them out or scrap them for more than that. niether bike has a title but i do have a bill of sale. get these things out of my truck!

Nice one adidas, That thing looks minty. I've been searching for a good mb-5 or another similar 2 stroke, 50cc, 5/6 speed moto. Its nice not having to worry about tags, insurance, registration, and inspection. Just maintenance and ride!

Looks nice :thumb:

Is that silver paint and white wheels?  Hard to tell.  Looks like a steal though.  :thumb:

I was thinking it was Primer, but it does look silvery. Definitely white wheels though.

I love MB-5's!
I had two of them, a red one and a black one. One of them I planted into the rear of a UHaul, they don't stop so good  ;)

2001 Suzuki GS500 Naked Sport Bike - $735 (SoCal)

From the ad:
For the past 2.5 years the bike has been sitting protected in a garage. I had the bike looked at by a mechanic to try and diagnose some erratic behavior I was experiencing with the bike. A low-compression reading in the right-hand cylinder was discovered. Despite not knowing this until right before I moved away from Socal, I rode it for over 2 years as is. Based on power output alone, I could never tell this bike had any faults.
That being said, due to the low compression in the one cylinder, the bike had a couple behavioral issues. One was that it could sometimes be a finicky starter and, once started, could take a while to warm up (about 5-7 minutes from a cold start). At times, after being warmed up and ridden for a while, it would stall if not given some throttle at stop lights. A little annoying but nothing that deterred me from riding it. I never had issues with the amount of power and I regularly drove it confidently on the highway, on service streets and in the canyons. Apparently it had enough power in the left-cylinder alone.

I would be tempted to say that was a bad comp test, if I could get it past the wife I would go take a look at it myself..
Is it just me or are the rims two different colors?

Rear is gunmetal.  Wouldn't be surprised if it was just a bad coil.  My 96 had the same issue, and that's what it turned out to be.  Could be a steal for someone!

If you're looking to buy a bike with "has some trouble, but runs", heck buy mine! :-D

In contrast to his bike: my motor, etc, all run fine. As an indicator of engine health, I'm getting around 55 mpg

the trouble with mine, is that the frame has dent in it.
Hasnt stopped me from putting a thousand or so more miles on it. But I wouldnt want to take it on the twisties. Which is why I'm looking to get a new bike :)

I'd like to get $1000 for it. I'll throw in one pristine side fairing which is prob worth $150 by itself.

I am into buying bikes that people have given up on and fixing them up!

RIP Patrick Lajko, I miss you man.
