"Great starter bike" translated usually means "cheap enough to wreck"

Damn.  That's a great price.  I wish I could spare the funds (both for the bike and the trip to get it.)  It's exactly what I'm looking for as a track bike.  Hopefully I can find something similar when I get serious about picking something up next spring.

"Great starter bike" though?  Idiot.

My thoughts exactly.  I wish I had the spare equity, I'd pick it up ASAP.  Wonder if he's willing to trade for a Bronco.. hmmm.

Sorry but you would be hard pressed finding a decent bike for $2,500 in OZ. You could probably get a beat up GS. A crashed track bike or something that will require work but that is about it. Maybe a I4 250.

That bike seems like a total scam. "Great miles comes with it" wtf does that mean. It says its a great starter bike... uhhh no. It is way too cheap, if it sounds too good to be true... The email address is separated by spaces, and there is no phone number. If you emailed them the reply would be something like "Sorry I already moved but if you go to western union and send the money then my friend that is still in the area will ship the bike to you."

Actually, around here (on craigslist) people separate their numbers to keep the ever growing list of spammers from emailing them.  And a lot of people think anything less than a liter bike is a starter (not saying they're right by any means).

I just emailed him, so we'll see.

Nope, I've more than learned my lesson.   I've got very little interest in riding a new-to-me bike home unless I purchase it like 2 miles away.   :)

I'm not interested in those kinds of adventures any longer.
If you can't be a good example, at least try to be a horrible reminder.

Man, you've got some good deals going on down there.  A Bandit was on my short list when shopping for my standardy commuter bike.  I'm quite happy that I ended up with another GS, but I would actually have rathered a nice clean fairingless Bandit to be honest.

I love that bike.  I'm really considering seeing if I can swing the funds for it..

If I had the extra, I'd love to have this one too.

Not a fan of the way that fairing looks, especially the lights - looks like bug eyes. Not a horrible deal, though. Those things are like a naked Katana or GS on steroids. Uses the same carburetors as our bikes I am fairly sure.

"...but other than that it looks great. "  False advertising alert.

Daaaamn. Where's that thing been sitting? It's dirty!!

I actually don't DISLIKE that paintjob. I'd prefer green/blue but as-is isn't horrible. It's unique, that's for sure!

A GS-500 is not an acceptable answer.  We already pieced together that you like that bike.

Me?  I'm going with either a 2000 VFR800 or a ~2004 YZF-600r.  I like something I can do longer distance riding on, but with sport-bike power.

Long distance + sportbike =

Vfr (best, comfort, buttery smooth power)
Fz6 (good comfort, rev happy)
Cbr (F4I) see fz6
ER6N
650R
Burgman400......hold up, a scooter ? Just try one. You will be surprised

If you can see the headlights while you're riding it, you're doing it wrong.

Hey, looks aren't everything but I do want to at least be able to tolerate a bike's looks. Though, I must say, they look strikingly similar to the headlights (reflectors) on the V-Strom and I swear...those were the best headlights of any bike I've owned. Hell, they were brighter and better than the headlights on my Ford Ranger.
