Flushing surface rust from gas tank

Need to take care of the slight surface rust in my gas tank.
Nothing major, just some surface junk.

Read somewhere to use a certain kind of Vinegar.

What kind exactly and let it sit for how long?

Going to rain a few days next week, so I figure I would do it then.
