Looking to buy in Rochester, NY / Thoughts on this CL posting

Hey guys, I'm looking for a starter bike. What would be ideal is a GS500e, I've heard great things about their reliability, and they're good looking standards. I'm not really looking to spend more than $1500, but I might be able to wiggle for a really good deal.

Unfortunately not many seem to turn up around here (I guess they all like to migrate to Albany or NYC). So there's another kind of GStwin for sale in Syracuse right now, and I was hoping I could get your opinions on it:

Now, IIRC, I've heard bad things about the GS550. Is this GS450 generally considered reliable? I don't want to spend all of my time tooling around and not riding. As a side note, KBB value is $1,140

For the price point and availability, I think your better off looking for an ex500 or maybe a sv650 if your up to it.  Bikes are kind of scarce in rochester, lived there for 5 years when I went to RIT.  Good luck with the search

I actually talked to that guy soon after he made the posting. I tried to haggle with him, but apparently he sold it pretty quickly
