Whats up everyone,
Name is Cameron, im from the flat lands of north florida. Picked up another gs back in dec. to take the miles of the daily buell 1125cr, its an incredible ride but not the most practical one either.

My original idea was to find a gs to turn into a track bike, my search led me to a non runner that sat outside for years. Being a concerned citizens, i rescued the cold, and hungry fellow and brought him into the nice warm garage to be rebuilt once again, lol. Took it down to frame, repainted it, threw in a 06 r6 rear shock and decided to just turn it into a sport touring. I change my mind way to much. Now im sourcing parts cause most were unsalvagable and not to my liking.
The motor needs a new clutch, gasket kit, and valve adjustment. It already came with a vance and hines pipe which is nice, carbs were rebuilt, and all un-needed parts were scrapped.
If anyone has a recommedation for a front stainless steal brake line as well as a clutch brand they like, any input would be appreciated.

Ill post pics when I get home after work.

Made some progress:
installed front forks with new seals, fork oil, and progressive springs
sv650 caliper is on

been painting alot of..... well everything
cleaned up the wire harness
install the ebc clutch and springs

and started cleaning up the motor, in which case I found a bad stator and alot of melted wires

yep, dosent bother me, i ride with earbuds so i helps
and besides if i can handle trips with my buell with an fmf pipe on it then the gs will be just fine    lol

found more melted wires:neutral safety wire switch and the maine wire that connects to the starter

Should I bother repairing them or just find some used ones

knowles

i would get whole newer harness, can be gotten on ebay for under $40 usually like $15 is what i bought mine for i think. on a 89-2001 (i think) work with minimal changing.

Prepping the motor for paint is the biggest pain is the ass that Ive come across so far, cant pressure wash it since too much stuff is taken off. Good thing I'm well stocked in lacquer thinner, brake cleaner, engine degreaser, wire brushes, and PATIENCE. LOL

It would be great if i had my own sand/bead blaster as well as powder coating set up,  that will be next on my project lists.

In need of alot of gaskets,
stator,
aftermarket footpegs,
chain,
aftermarket front brake line,
and misc. stuff to start it up

Put the wheels on and tightened up the suspension
The motor is cleaned after 4 cans of brake cleaner, 1 bottle of orange degreaser
And a whole lot of lacquer thinner   lol
Time for more paint

Parts all over the place
