Awesome paint, awesome polishing and awesome everything else ... but for choice of bike.
A cafe or a flat tracker works only if the motor and the rest of the mechanicals are narrower than the tank, seat, tail.
And yes a fatter tank seat and tail will achieve that ... except it would look stupid, like the "Mamut" from east germany of a few years ago.
Cool.

I can live with a fat motor  :thumb: So I'm guessing you don't like Guzzi's then?

The Buddha

Love guzzi's ... WTF you talking about, if a jackal turned up @ my door cold. wet and shivering, no way I'd turn it away ...

I just wont cafe it and put 3000 bucks worth of paint on it and a cowl on it and try to pass it off as one ...

A cafe is one you want to ride all night in the rain and fog to get to what someone in your club refered to as the most wicked set of switch backs ever since Chengis Khan invented the cork screw ... and nothing that would look the part has a motor 6" wider than the tank.

Now there is no shortage of bikes that would look the part. Any 80's 2 cyl. CB450, gs450, kz440, xs450, xs500, xs650 etc etc etc. But to do this to a cb750 is just wrong. The $ was better spent turning the cb into an amen savior frame chopper.

Cool.

I thought the eBay listing was for a 550? Check out what Carpy does to the CB750's - some people like his work, some don't.

The 550 is a pretty sought after bike for cafe's - little less power than a 750, but also a lot less weight. Have you guys seen Ringo's "Gulf" CB550?

I have, real nice on both accounts. I would love to get a cafe style bike but the money you pay for them you can get a pretty decent road bike. I spose there is a lot of time and effort that goes into them.
Yeh the eBay listing is for the 550. Buddha was saying he didn't like fat motors in cafe bikes so I was wondering what he thought of Guzzi's as they make pretty nice cafe bikes but have huge motors in them (huge in that they stick out from under the bike)
