A BIG Thank You to everyone

I got my first GS500 in May 2010. That was Suzi. I found this board shortly after that. Soon I bought Junior and rode him 45 miles home only to die after 5 miles on the freeway. I remembered the topics on putting the petcock into PRIME. WOW! I remembered something from the board and got Junior home. (After that, the petcock never acted up. Must have been stiff from lack of use.) Information found here is not in any Haynes or Clymer manual.

On to today.....

In case you have been in a coma, Phenix is now running. Saturday there was a fantastic inaugural ride festival and full day of wrenching at the Bike Cave. Thanks to everyone that came. Maybe 12 GS500's there all at the same time? Is that heaven or what? (FYI: Custom bike plates in WA are 6 characters so he is PHENIX rather than PHOENIX.)

I have to give a special thanks to centuryghost and scottychop. For all the wrenching I watched them do and that they helped me do - I learned a lot. Thanks to nonfiction for showing me how to rebuild forks and donating his home made fork tool to the Cave.

And a big thank you to everyone that had something break, broke something, did something stupid or had a POS. There was so much to learn reading about all the trials and tribulations of the GS500 and everyone's tips and advice on how to fix things.

Without all the information I learned from all of you on this board, I never would have had the confidence or ability to turn this:

into this

I wish I could send some beers and Karma Korn to everyone!

You named it...him..."Phenix" but yet...did not choose orange? You okay, Adidas? I mean...I would've thought for sure orange would've been your color for him...or red maybe, but you already have red...

Yellow maybe? Or do you have a yellow one too? I can't keep up!!

Also the thanks MUST go to you because without you and your help on this forum, most of us would have just given up. So on behalf of those many you have helped. THANK YOU

I am not interested in anything you have to say
Don't bother talking to me, I will not answer you

When I'm stuck on a project with my GS500, I think first of AddidasGuy.  You have guru status in my mind.  Thank you.

Purchased for 600 Euros in Berlin a littleover a year ago. Adidas had a Star Wars collection. I almost didn't buy it. friend traveling with me said it was cool so I bought it. Wore it back to hotel. 2 people asked where I got it. Next day they were all sold out.

It is the only thing I have ever worn that strangers come up and ask about it. If I had 30 of them - I could have sold them in the past year. I love the jacket. So freaking campy and cool to wear.

I use him because he is single (and available) so never has to worry about someone dashing his dreams or saying he can't go riding.

Very cool bike. Think I might have to steal the reflectors on the forks idea. Is it just the heavy duty reflective tape?

Nevermind, I couldn't tell from looking at my phone thas it was an actual reflector piece. Had to log into the computer.

+1 on that too. Never been to Washington (one of the 10 reminding states to visit in my lifetime), but his knowledge on posts have helped a ton.

You have an awesome bike with an epic story.

I use Harley stick on reflectors on all my bikes. Around $10-$15 on ebay. Search for "Harley reflector".
