Old seat on new tank, or different seat on newer tank?

Hi, I'm looking to switch the seat over to something else so my ass doesn't fall asleep,a nd so it looks better. I have an 89 gs with a 2008 tank, and it fits but it looks funny with the old seat. i like the way the newer tank looks, so what i'm tring to do is find a way to make the seat fit better to the tank. was thinking about just putting the newer seat on, but them i would have to put the newer plastics on also (i'm guessing the brackets and mounting points have changed also) or trying to make a hybred seat by cutting off the front of the older style seat and replacing it with the newer one, and having it recovered and new foam put in. anyone been in the same boat? What did you do. looking for ideas at this point guys. thanks
