How did this break on this bike - Not a GS

On this eliminator 1000 - basically a kawi concourse motor, the clutch basket seems to have lost the ... well the prongs that make it a basket.
I have to get a pic.
The theory I have - bone head tries to change the clutch and shatters the basket in an attempt to gorilla it instead of using the proper tool, or heck the gorilla uses the proper tool but instead of catching the teeth of the gear, they catch the basket.
Otherwise how would it break.
Oh yea broken pieces are lying in the case, not ground up and vanished in the oil.
Betting on the gorilla.
But if anyone can theorize a demise without involving 800lb animals ...

Naaa screw that, threw a rod. #3 cyl. Couldn't tell with all the radiator shroud and crap covering it all up.
Either way a nearly cosmetically cherry eliminator with a bad motor - pretty much a dream for a eli rebuild, even the tars and nice and new.

Anyway the eliminator I had for many years, which I am using parts off this to fix up - well this bike's appearance on the scene and the fact it is black in color - well that bike has been named due to this one's apeparance -

I saw a video a while back of some genius trying to change the clutch basket on a HD Sportster 48.  The guy didn't loosen everything as they should have inside the case, so when they started using the tool (whatever it's called) to pull the clutch basket, it slowly removed the lug posts off of the basket as they turned the screw.  Granted, they were also using a hammer to help it along...  Is that what you're talking about?

In that pic, the prong type things on the wall - those were broken. I am sure the connecting rod sticking through the front side of the motor has the answer ...

I've heard of people bbeating a circle of plywood onto them, then hitting the nut with an impact. Maybe they should have used 1x instead of 1/4" ? Lol
