New LED Turn Signal problems

I'm pretty handy when it comes to mechanical stuff and being able to solve basic electrical problems. BUT, I'm at my wits end with this.

So, here are the turn signals (12 volt)

And here is the problem.... once i connected all four the lights flash when I try left or right. they do work correctly if I connect two old rear signals. any ideas. it isn't the lights as i checked them out. Fuse???

Here is another scenario to confuse the situation. I connect the new turns on the right side of the bike then an old signal at the rear left with a new at the front left. The turn signals work when you turn right but do the four way flash if I turn on the left signals (that is the one with the old one connected). Same thing if I reverse the situation with the rear signals with the right having the old one.    :cookoo:

You need an electronic relay or "load balancing" resistors.  If you go the relay route, you will also need a little diode adapter for the instrument cluster turn indicator.

Electronic or load balancing does not fix all on at once. That problem is due to the indicator light that connects the left side to the right side.

Do this to fix it:

Nah, the resistors I'm talking about are the 20-25w 8ohm resistors that load the relay, and consequently the indicator side of the circuit.  They are in parallel with the LED signals (one per side, not per corner)

So playing around with the bike and looking at the wiring diagram both of you guys were right. I did need the relay to slow down the blink and I did need to make the wiring adjustments Adidasguy suggested.

But through the trouble shooting process I discovered that the indicator bulb once removed rectified the problem as well. That left me with working turn signals but no indicator light.

In the end I'm wiring it up so both work.

Use diodes to split your signals for left and right, and use a led flasher can to slow your blinker rate to an acceptable rate. Easy fix.

I had the same problem about a week ago and felt removing the indicator bulb was the was to go as well. It's just a much easier solution, as long as you dont mind losing the indicator.
