I have a Gs500 Engine from a 2001 Gs500 bike that I recently purchased. The bike was not running well and needed a carb job. I crashed my Gs500 in the fall and it was at a local junkyard still in great shape with 6,000 miles on it. So I swapped my old Gs500 engine into this bike (because it runs great and didn't need carb work), and now I have this motor to sell. I ran a compression test on it by rigging it up to a battery. It has a solid 115 PSI to 120 PSI in each cylinder, and I have an uncut video to prove it!

The carbs are in perfect shape, but will need a new seal kit to be useable. If someone buys the carbs, or engine from me. I am willing to install a seal kit free of charge if you give me the kit to install it

I will take plenty of pix very soon for this post, and I will upload the video to youtube of the compression test soon.


The motor has 11,9xx miles on it (basically 12,000)
The sides of the motor (the alternator cover and the ignition timing system cover) have minor nics on the covers, but these things have nothing to do with the integrity and health of the engine of course, and can be swapped with inexpensive covers off ebay.

Lastly, I have cracked the valve cover and side to inspect componenets, they have been thoroughly cleaned and installed with "ultra black" permatex gasket sealant. I am a very honest seller with tons of history on ebay and nasioc.com. If there are any problems with this motor or these carbs I will gladly take them back. I guarantee they are exactly as described.

I will take any reasonable offer, just make one I base "reasonable" off of what these things sell for on the web. Relative motors of the same year with similar mileage and condition.
