CDI compatibility by year for GS500

My name is Adrian, I just joined the forum. I had a crash with my gs500 a month or so ago, and repaired my bike, however after a while it started to have problems again.
   
After taking it to the service, they found out that my CDI unit is broken and told me to look for a replacement ( since it's an old bike probably not worth more than 1200 euros or so, buying a new CDI would be a bad idea ).
   
Anyway, my GS500 is from 2003, and they told me I need to find a CDI unit newer than 2002 because it was changed then.
   
After looking around I confirmed what they said, the 2003 and newer CDI is different. However, my question is: Can I use a 2004-2006 CDI on a 2003 model?
   
The part number for the 2003 model is:
            32900-01D50
   
For 2004 to 2006 we have two:
            32900-01D50 ( same as above )
            and
            32900-01DA0
   
Will the 01DA0 one work for my 2003 model?
