When I rev my bike up with the clutch in or in neutral the bikes RPMS drop rapidly. When I am in any gear and I take the bike up to redline or just higher revs in general and let off the fuel it just seems to slow down as if I am slowly releasing the throttle. Rpms drop VERY slowly. On my 4 cylinder sport bike rpms drop rapidly and slow the bike down quickly. Is this common on the GS or do I have something tweaked incorrectly. My standing idle is like 1800 Rpms. Thanks for the help.

Not common on a gs. Sounds like an issue with your carb, posibly an air leak.

Idle is supposed to be set around 1250 RPMs.  Set your idle to this using the large idle screw in the middle of the carb, and then see if it feels better.

If the RPM's are dropping normally with the clutch pull in this may be normal.  If you are used to riding bigger displacement bikes  the GS has very little engine braking in comparison.  I notice I have to change my riding style and use the brakes a lot more when I get on the GS.
