Carbs/airbox, no time to re-assemble

I really need to get the carbs/airbox back in my bike. The thing is, I live in a basement apartment and don't have a garage, so putting these back in place would be difficult for me as well as time consuming, time that I don't really have. On average how much would it cost to get this done at a local mechanic shop, and am I only wasting my money doing so?

It would be maybe an hour of labor, so whatever that costs you locally at a shop ($54 around here). It's not very complex thing to do at all. Assuming you still have the fairings and tank off, you just put the carbs back on, follow a diagram on the site on how to hook up the hoses, put airbox on, put tank on, put fairings on. If it's your first time and you're trying to be careful, it may take you 2 hours tops.

Is it bad to say I have a bunch of screws in a box and have no idea where all of them go?

It's bad in the sense that you should have taken pictures and documented, but you should be able to figure out where they go. Do you have a faired model(f) or the naked (e)? There are videos in the video tutorial thread:

You can judge for yourself whether or not you can do what you see in the videos. If I were you, next time have a cheap digital camera nearby to document your steps so you know exactly how things go, and what screws go where.

I did take pics of the carb removal but not close up ones so I'd know which screw goes where 

Thanks for the links. They're really helpful. I do have the fairing model but took the fairings off after I scratched and cracked them in several places.

for the future:
ziplock baggies and a sharpie for all screws on disassembly.
that, or put the screw back in the hole it came from once the part is removed.
