Will A Sprocket limit a bike to say 90mph is it is a 14 or 15 tooth.  I have a bigger front tire and am cleaning up after another rier that abused the little two wheeled baby. I know the spedo will be off about 5mph and I have a little bit of a flaot issue to fix but the bike just pulls like a mother! Did I put the wrong size sprocket on? It is a 15

Summary:  Theoretically(sarcasm), smaller front sprocket gives you an edge early on by getting through the rpm band quicker, but can reduce top speed because it makes it through useable rpms faster... but other variables, such as drag, can throw these theories to the wind (no pun intended).

Now whether your own 'lower' max speed can be entirely blamed on a smaller front sprocket, I have no idea... it has to do with too many factors, such as adequate fuel intake, surface friction, drag, etc..

i went 2 down in front (14t) and 3 up in back (42t). Pretty awesome to ride until about 90 mph and then it takes a minute with wot to hit 100

just a friendly note... as i also received friendly notes when starting to ask questions (not that long ago) ... the Search button is your friend ...
in the search field a 15t or 14t or sprocket or (the various sizes of) rear sprocket will produce pages and pages and pages of useful info, arguments about said info, counter arguments about said info and various random rebuttals of said info ..  :thumb:

as will most other questions on just about .. .no scratch that... on EVERYTHING related to 'our' bike  :D
