On some parts of my frame the lustre is gone? What can I use and do to clean it up and get the shine back?

I used a product called brasso used for cleaning silver, copper and of course brass stuff. It's not as rough as compound, yet with a few coats(apply as you would wax, then buff off whebn it dries.) it left my frame looking sweet! :thumb:

Sorry I forgot to mention that...grocery store should carry it.

Brasso, if it's the same as brasso over here (Blue screw-top can??) be careful because it's a mild abrasive, continued use may be a problem. It would be good for one or two polishes and then a coat of clear laquer or something similar. I hesitate to use trade-names across borders, In England "Durex" is a condom, in Australia it's sticky-tape, just a piece of useless trivia.

If it is the same stuff it is very handy for polishing out scratches on plexiglass/plastics like say watch glasses, I won't say visors as on CBT they tell you never to repair helmet damage.

I've never heard anyone imply that Durex is sticky tape, mate. Maybe it's an NSW or WA thing?
We have to be careful where we say 'pass the rubber' though :)
(In Aus, a rubber is an eraser)

Probably a WA thing, brother-in-law sent me some as a wind-up, living in Perth at the time. Incidently there is a brand of Spanish crisps, what our U.S. cousins would call chips, that rejoices in the name of "BUM", Funny old world.
