Since I don't think anyone mentioned it yet... Here is a link to GS Twin's Wiki Page - Maintenance Schedule where there is a good amount of things you'll find that you want to do to your bike before and shortly after you begin riding.  Also, here is a link to mostly all of the Video Tutorials out there for much of the maintenance you can do on your own.
