So on my 2002  I have

1)kreemed the tank
2)added to inline filter
3) replaced intank petcock
4) cleaned all needles
5) changed oil
6) changed spark plug

No after a couple of cranks i got it to start up. Then i rev for about a min, after that the bike idles...couple min later i go to rev and the bike dies and after some cranks it start up again but the same problem happens.. after the 3rd time it won't even stay started.

The next day it starts right and I see the revs go up without me hitting the throttle...

PLEASE HELP float maybe? I already cleaned the carb...the bike has about 400 miles on it

thanks

Big Rich

Right away I think your Kreem from the tank has clogged your inline filter. And if it hasn't already, it will soon.

You can check the gas level in your carbs with s clear tube on the drain. Have you tried to run with the petcock on prime?

I took another look at the tank and no loose material, and I would of seen junk in the inline filter (the filters are plastic type so i can see little rust but nothing to serious)

I am about to ship budda my carbs and call it a day

So........have you ran it on prime and checked your float level? It could be a couple different things, some of which have little to do with your actual carbs.

i only have about 1.25 gallon of gas...i ran it on pri then on reserve...could that be a problem?

randy0211

what else could it be?

there are 3 jets 2 of them have a screw thing on top i hope i didn't mess that up...and what would cause the idle to raise by itself all the way to 6k rmp?

Big Rich

An air leak can raise it a little, but a sticky cable is more likely. Also a sticking slide in the carbs.

Try and get the bike to stall again. and check your fuel level in the carbs. It sounds like you are running out of gas, whether it's because of the petcock, gas tank vent, low fuel in the tank, clogged carb breather tubes, etc.
