Two weeks ago I got an 01 from craigslist on the cheap. The seller said it "fell over into his Jeep".  Turns out the jeep was moving at a good clip during time, and the small dent in the tank is matched by a large dent in the front wheel. I didn't see that when I bought it. That's why I'm here. I'm looking for options I can do on the cheap. Will any GS500 front wheel fit my 2001? Are there other options I use, like wheels off other Suzuki bikes? Thanks GSTwins.

As far as I'm aware, the only difference between the years is the wheel color. The search function is your friend in this case as it has been covered many times, with many supporting pics.
It seems it has become necessary to qualify my posts:

Indeed, all GS-500 wheels are the same except for color.

As I recall...

89-96 = white
97=00 = gray
01-02 = silver
04+ = black

Thanks for the heads up. I hadn't searched the site specifically. I'd been over google several times trying to find the answer with no luck. I bought a 2005 front wheel off Ebay, and I'll paint the rear wheel to match.  Black wheels will do a great job hiding the flung off chain oil.

My 97 had gray wheels but my 02 has black ones.  The 97 is gone, parted out by son, but I still have the gray wheels and they are on my 02 now.  Could hardly see my frequent over use of chain lube on the 02 rear black wheel.  As matter of fact, my 97 rear gray wheel looks black right now too.   :icon_lol:
