I am looking for a communication system and don't know if FRS is the way to go. Nady has as neat driver/passenger unit (3) and the 11 model is a good bike to bike to pass solution but is it in common useage?
Does anyone have one and how well does it work?

We bought a set of Nady MRC-11s for a ride a couple of years ago. Actually a bunch of us in our ride group did. One guy said he never had any trouble with his, but ours never worked real well. even sitting still next to each other, they would cut out, break up, and the VOX never worked at all.  I suppose if we futsed with them long enough we might find a way to get them working right, but they were distracting so haven't bothered with them since. Besides, when I ride I prefer not to talk or listen to people talk...

I will say this for the Nadys though, they can take a beating. 'Lita dropped hers at 50~60 mph and besides some rash, it still works as well as it ever has.

I have a NADY MRC11 and I've never had a problem with it, except that I wasn't happy with the accompanying headset.  I'm looking for a good replacement.

The radio unit though is great... VERY durable and the audio-in port gives you a slick way to sneek in some music if you live in one of those states where it isn't exactly "legal" to listen to music while riding.

I have the HJC-FRS chatterbox.  It's a good little thing but lately it cuts out after a 2-3hour ride.  It's  about $185 with a 2mile radius.  There is also the FRS X2 for $210/2mile radius and the GMRS X1 for $270/5mile radius.

and they also come with a cord which attaches to the passenger.  Voice activated or button.  The passenger unit for mine was about $30.
