Hello All,

I haven't been on in a while and i have yet to ride the gs-500 this year.

I re jetted the carbs over the winter, Per Buddhas directions.
Had the tank empty and the battery on a trickle charge.

I was able to bump start the bike and get her fired up.
let her run for a bit but when i give her a litte gas she dies.
then she will not turn over. It seems like shes flooded
If i then let it sit for 5 or 6 minutes and then go to start it
she starts right up.... But i let her sit to warm up and as soon as i
try to give it any gas it dies and will not start.

I pulled the plugs they seemed foweled (new last year with very little ridding)
i was assuming that was because i needed to reject ...

After further inspection my air box (k&N) was not on all the way....
this thing is a pain in the butt to get on... i have to warm up the plastic in a bit of running warm water
then its soft and slips on. i put some extra zip ties around it and the carbs to make sure it will not pop off.

I also checked all my fuel lines and tank vent all seems well.
i also moved it from PRI to Reserve to by pass vacume ... im typing this all very fast so sorry about my horrible grammer.

As well when i rejetted the bike i also cleaned the carbs.

Any advise ? i have had similar issues in the past but i cant seem to think of what resolved them if any.

I know one time i was driving on the highway and ran out of gas completly and after getting fresh gas in the tank and switching the pet chicken it would not start... or atleast i ran down most of the highway trying to jump start it ... at which point it did start but was puttering and i had to play with the throttel before she opened up and ran ... that has happened twice... just low start not full rpm.

alright tell me what you guys think ....Please. me = :cookoo: should i just dump the bike?
ill go make a video and post it on youtube so you guys can see what i mean.

Looks like you may be too rich.  Running great when cold, then horrible when warm plus fouled plugs means rich.

A few questions before I make any more assumptions:

1.  What year is your bike?
2.  What size jets did you install?
3.  Tell me more about the air cleaner.  Is it a drop-in or a lunchbox?
4.  What about exhaust?
5.  Did any gas sit in the carbs, even the float bowls?  If so, that's a start of your problem.  Gas can turn bad in 2-3 months.
Bikeless and Broke at the moment...

94, jets: pilot 40  main 150  washers 1  turns 3. It has a K&N lunch box as well as full vancehines exahust. Gas tank was drained and new gas installed.

I should have keep rolling with the video as soon as i stopped i went over and gave it a little gas n she died.
but the second video you can see or rather hear what it sounds like when i try after the fact.

IT starts but putters and never gets the rev/rpms to stay running.

mind you if i let the bike sit for 10 min it will fire right up like video one.
