Hi Everyone!

New member here! Just picked up a new (indeed, right!) '91 GS500E, with 26k on the clock, seems mostly stock except for a yoshimura exhaust. Two pictures attached here, took it out in my "backyard," lots of hills and twisty roads. I should also maybe mention this is my first motorcycle  :)

Though I did just replaced the turnsignals to ones with much shorter stalks and more modern look. And about to take a dremel to the rear fender after this message!

Other work done in the preceding week are chain cleaning and lubing, change of oil and oil filter, replaced the flasher relay, replaced all lights in the gauges/indicators (most were burned out), changed the fuel filter, and changed the rear spring preload setting. And ordered a new air filter and spark plugs which should arrive within the next day or so... Still would like to do the valves and sync the carburetors soon.

I have something else to admit here, call it a funny little detail. What clinched the decision for me to get the GS500 over the ninja 500 (it was close until the end), were some youtube videos I found detailing the simplicity and "feel" of the motorcycle. Now having lurked here for a week before joining, it seems that at least one of these videos that helped me make the "right" decision was made by a member here that goes by "mister." So thanks!

Hi and welcome.
Bike looks nice :thumb:

Thanks! Having a blast so far with it! Actually thinking of picking up another one for my brother.

And now, a fenderectomy has also been done! That was really easy :)

And some more pictures? Yeeeeees.

Welcome.  Sounds like you need a day job.  Before you know it, your GS500 will be unrecognizable.  Great first bike.

Haha, there's an additional problem there, my day job also involves motorcycles! Working at a start-up here that is doing some pretty interesting things... :)
