Hey guys I managed to break my clutch perch and lever. I've been searching around the forums and watched addidas guy's video on clutch levers a couple of times, and I have decided to replace the lever/perch with an OEM one.

So my question is I have a 92' GS500E would a newer clutch lever/perch work with mine such as
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2002-Suzuki-GS500-GS-500-CLUTCH-LEVER-AND-PERCH-/300733918170?hash=item4605236bda&item=300733918170&pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr

I wasn't sure if the older safety switch that attaches to the perch will still fit on the newer perch and if it will still fit into the slot on the newer lever.

Hopefully I've described my question the best I can. Still new at tinkering with bikes and what not. Thanks
:)

The perches are the same for all years.
Levers are same except for the depth of the slot. New work on old. Old will crush a new switch (due to switch slot not deep enough).

You could put on the new switch. Clip your wires and crimp on 2 small spade connectors for the newer switch. It is less hassle than the old switch parts falling out when you have to remove the switch to change levers.

Gotcha thanks! Answered a question I didn't even ask. Wasn't sure if I could connect the old wires to a new switch. Thanks again.
