Perfect condition (....) Bike has never been in an accident.

BULL-oney.
Practically all the plastic has been replaced! :p (and cheaply too, with improper ig: non-stickered) replacements.
To me, that says not one, but multiple, accidents.
"road debris", suuuuure....

sure looks "pretty" though

You clearly do not know that bike if you think those are after market fairings.  I took the stickers off myself because I did not like them.  Close inspection would clearly show its never been in an accident so anyone interested would see that so take your lack of knowledge elsewhere!!!  :thumb: :thumb:

Ok, cool it chief. Around here, we joke, but we rarely mean anything by it. And, unfortunately, the fact that you have 2 posts thus far don't lead people to trust you at face value...at least not yet. Maybe if you had introduced yourself and gotten a bit familiar with the forum prior to posting your for sale ad...

Unfortunately when it comes to selling a bike, removing any factory stickers makes people think the plastic has been replaced due to drops & accidents. I will vouch for the colors of the fairings being correct for the stated model year, though.
It seems it has become necessary to qualify my posts:
I am/am not trying to start an argument. This post is/is not intended to be a personal attack. I am/am not merely attempting to present a different viewpoint.

Select the words that apply to you.

it always bugs me when people only take pictures of one side of a bike...

Does seem kinda sketchy.  How were the stickers removed? "Road debris"...maybe. Maintained...why the cracked engine? Only 2 posts without even asking "what do you guys think?"
i think I'll pass for now.
Friendly fire, isn't. But it's the most accurate. Semper Fi

If you pull up the link from Craigslist i have 4 pictures on there and can supply more if needed including closeups to verify no damages or scratches on any parts.

Huff1371

So what's wrong with the right side? Also, what happened with the engine? Not trying to be a duck but I hate to see stuff "craigslist" perfect and not "reality" worth it.

Either you are mistaken and there is no crack OR something happened to it that you aren't being honest about. Sorry, road debris WILL NOT crack the engine...unless you hit an extension ladder and call that 'road debris.'

I do not know why you would arbitrarily remove the decals from the fairings. It isn't an easy task and only makes the bike look bland. I'm guessing the fairing has been replaced...most likely after the accident that cracked the engine.

Sorry, but a bike that's got a busted engine isn't worth $1200. $600 is more like it if the engine is indeed toast.

Most people who have an "i dont like the stickers" attitude, also bother to repaint the fairings to something more appealing than the base generic "fresh factory replacement white" color.
Otherwise, it looks like the typical "I had an accident, paid for new fairings, but not paying another $200 for the stickers" fashion statement.

I don't like stickers or decals on any of my rides. So I can relate. I'm interested in the bike but a parts bike at $1200 is a bit much. If you're willing to bring it down to an amount to make it economical to repair and ride let me know. But at your current price plus a new motor isn't worth it.

Gotta agree on road debris not cracking an engine though. Maybe if you hit a curb

KBB is about 1500 and the CHEAPEST GS500F motor on ebay is $1050

I would like to mention that craigslist has been updated now stating it was not road debris but a "blown rod"

on a side note, not to be a @#$&% but it sounds like either A. it was crashed or B. you decided to jump it and landed really hard (Ask me how i know)

Changing a Story about why something broke is not a good sign.

A grand now... for a parts bike? Not even worth that down in OZ where everything is pricey.

No lie, I would like to get it. And in case the OP comes back, I'm the one who was testing you asking you about it. I'm 3 hrs south of you. But like I said on the phone, KBB only shows it at 1500 amount and a USED engine on ebay was at $1050

Even at 1K for the bike and another 1k for the engine you now have more in it than what the bike is worth. That in any deal, is a bad investment. Then you got shop time or labor on swapping engines out and PRAY that's all there is to it.

If it was running and had no issues, your price wouldn't even be questioned. But even if you were to part it out, not only would I be a PITA but I doubt that you would get 1K out of it.

Unfortunately it's a 500. If it were bigger and more popular you might have better luck on parting it out.

I am still interested and want it but I simply can't buy it and invest in it for more than its worth. Plus for me, I have to include 7hrs of drive time to go there and back and maybe more because Alpharetta is a good bit past Atlanta.

Unfortunately, very few people give a crap about what the KBB value is on a bike, although it is helpful as a buyer to know what it is. Sellers only care about what other bikes like theirs for sale in their local area are selling for.

Ad says "no lowball offers" but I think in this case the seller is stuck with $500 of motorcycle regardless of what they wish it was worth.
