So I removed the right side crankcase cover from my 93 gs500e to remove a bad gasket and it is proving quite the chore to remove.  Any tips or tricks? I'm trying to be really careful to not scratch the surface of the case, but it is getting slightly scratched here and there.  I'm using brake cleaner and a razor...

Thanks!

The OEM gaskets on these are a real PITA to remove.....I used gasket remover to help when I replaced the left side cover gasket.  You can find it at any auto parts store.

How much leeway do I have on scuffing up the surface?  I just want to be sure I don't compromise the surface of the cover
