Took a long trip

So I took a trip to bike week over the weekend. Clocked about 650 miles in 3 days. I ran it for a 4-5hr stretch (with a few quick pit-stops) at 60-80mph both ways and sat in stop-n-go traffic for an hour at a time without burning a drop or oil. Even did a burn out or 2 on my brand new tire (shaved about 3k miles off I guess).  I took some video of the bike week festivities and burnout and will post it as soon as I figure out how.

Anyway the little sucker didn't miss a beat the whole trip. Me on the other hand? Well, I don't feel like riding for a few days. It was murder on my legs and hands. It's 2 days later and I'm still sore and feel like I have a bobble head. The way there (245miles) I took all back roads without a GPS to navigate (a map stuck to the tank with magnets). Saw some really cool stuff. Went over the Conowingo Hydro-elect Dam and Port Deposit MD which was really cool. Also traversed the Chesapeake Bay Bridge which was a white knuckle nightmare with wind and heavy traffic. The last hour of the trip home was the worst. I felt like pulling over and laying down and sleeping on the side of the road.

Why are you looking here?

Nice trip!  I recently got back from a long one too.  While my mind and body were exhausted, my soul was fulfilled!

Did the Iron Butt on the GS.  1004 miles in just shy of 19 hours.  Didn't skip a beat.  Bone stock at the time.
Bikeless and Broke at the moment...

nicely done. next month my fiancee and i will be headed down to daytona to visit biketoberfest for a little from jacksonville. we've made the trip last year, and its a measly 220 round trip i think. a cake walk to some rides that i've heard of people taking, like jester here. thats outrageous!

plskin, first big rides always put your off from riding. Solution = get back on the bike and ride around town like normal to override the negative experience you had. Means, next time you will not get such a negative response. Might still feel fatigued but you won't feel so much like not riding.
