Rattle Sound at 6500rpm

Has anyone else experienced this? As the tac hits 6500 no matter what gear I get a very loud rattling sound. Sounds more like a plastic part than metal.  It seems to die out once I hit 7000-7250. So it must be that certain pitch of the engine. Originally I thought it was coming from the key or small key ring hanging from it but yesterday I was able to hold those still and the noise continued. Its tough to diagnose while riding so I'm going to try some further testing in neutral at home to see if I can get it to happen. It almost sounds like its coming from the area where bolt is that connects the front end to the rest of the frame. Any insight would be appreciated.

Get up to speed, reach up and push on your headlight. My light rattles in the bucket right around 7K.

I've got a 2005 GS500F, and many of the plastic and rubber parts have been problematic...  One of the things coming along with my clutch today are the dampeners for the speedometer and tachometer (the rubber gasket looking things they sit on).  Before my clutch issues, I was having a lot of buzzing coming from both of those right around that same RPM range.  I also think that my right-side mirror rattles at that speed too, so my sounds may not be done with just that either.

My testing for rattles is basically the same as Soloratov...get up to speed where that's happening, and then just put firm pressure on various parts of the bike that could possibly be rattling until you find the culprit, then park it and have a closer look at exactly what needs to be done to solve it.  Make sure you check your keys too...I had a plastic tag on my keyring that was sometimes catching the wind just right to produce some interesting buzzing as well.

Thanks, I was trying to touch/push on as many different areas as I could while riding yesterday. Weather was a little touchy today so I didn't ride. I thought it might be the gauges as I did replace the lights for those soon after I got the bike with LEDs. I think I got everything tightened back down (those black gaskets are in place) but I'm always afraid to over tighten a screw/bolt when its going into plastic, I'd had to crack something.
I'll post any updates after the next ride, thanks again!

I had a similar little plastic tag on my key chain I grabbed it while the noise was occurring and it didn't seem to make a difference. Decided to just try taking my key off any kind of chain and riding that way...haven't heard it since. So sometimes its just the small things I guess. Case solved!

I had the same. Turned out to be keys.
Friendly fire, isn't. But it's the most accurate. Semper Fi
