I want to replace the float needle valve and seat on the left carb ... what's the gstwins consensus re. best bang for the buck online ?

I'm considering :

http://www.newmotorcycleparts.com/fuel_system_parts/carb_kit_suz.html     (#9310)

                                        or

Bikebandit prices are much higher (but probably for genuine mikuni parts instead of cheap knockoffs.)

I did a search here at gstwins and some people had real problems with cheap stuff like K & L .

ronayers.com for genuine Suzuki parts. Considerably cheaper than bikebandit, and less reported bad experiences as well.

Yes, knockoff float valves have given people problems, from the reports.

For mine (1990 - later ones may vary a bit) $23.89 each for a float valve assembly (valve and seat). $1.74 for the o-ring.

Some folks have been cheaping out with ebay "needles only", perhaps some of them can report in on how that's working out for them (using old seat.)
1990 GS500EL - with moderately-ugly paintjob.
1982 XJ650LJ -  off the road for slow repairs

I always recommend OEM needle valve sets from a site like ronayers.com or somewhere similar.  Too many problems with K&L sets for me.  Other parts, like o-rings, jets, gaskets, diaphragms, you might find cheaper sources on Ebay (nichesuppy especially) or JetsRus.

Wow. Just called ronayers, they quote a price of $ 54 bucks for just one (?) float valve assembly for a '95 gs 500.

So i'm still searching...

54 would be the correct price for 2 sets (1 for each carb), and you can't find a better price anywhere else.
