Help on getting my bike up and running

OK. We've had one of the hottest summers here in Phoenix and I did not ride much at all.  As a result, my bike has been sitting where and how I last parked it (outside, not "summerized").  I didn't think it would be that long of a time before I would ride again.  After all, I rode most of last summer and it can't be this hot for long, right?

Anyway, the other day, it was nice(er) and I decided to try to fire her up.  Battery dead, of course.  So, I know I will need to recharge that.  What else should I be looking at to make sure she's running in fine condition before riding season starts (when the average high temp drops below 105*)?

Suggestions?
My ride:

For best results although may not be necessary...Drain the fuel, inspect the empty tank for debris ,and drain the carbs ,and start fresh. Gas can go bad within a few months nowadays, and better safe than sorry.
Other than the battery, and fuel ,it hasn't sat long enough to mess anything up really.
Before you ride check your tires psi,and chain, and you may even want to change your oil.

Yeah, only because of that crap chit they call Ethanol. After a while it will separate from the gas.
