hey guys just joined and need some advice one getting my bike running right

its a gs500 1998 totally standard jets and exhaust but has lunchbox k&n (previous owner fitted it)

anyways from a look at the plugs the bike is running very very lean (i no they run lean from factory but not this lean as the lunchbox is not helping)

anyways hers the problem the bike up to 5k is ok bit snatchy as it need carbs balancing yet , but after 6k till redline (the main powerband for these bikes i heard) it is so flat and does not move its like theres no power but i take it this is because of the jetting

so for my jetting i am going for 150 main and 3 turns out ( i am also going to be putting a free flowing custom stubby exhaust on soon )

do you think this will solve my problem

just be nice to hear some feed back on this bit of pointless thread but this problem may still be there when i upjet so it could be something else ? defo carb related by the looks of it tho

cheers will get some pics of the bike up this week

The GS500 Wiki has an extensive table of jet settings for many configurations including yours. These are guaranteed to work.
