hey all this isn't the first time I'm posting as many of you saw my thread about my GS not running. i thought id post about all the work I've done so far and let you guys comment/suggest on it. (really i just want to show it off)

so i bout my GS in june sight unseen. i was told by the dealer that the bike had a small scrape on the left side (non exhaust side) and i was ok with it because I'm a new rider. well i got the bike and was livid to find that the one small scrape was actually a very big scrape and it was on both sides. so since then I've been replacing and repainting parts little by little until it got to how it is today.

so far i have:
replaced the front cowl
replaced both fairings
removed decals from rear frame covers
repainted the fuel tank (will be redone by a professional in the winter)
replaced the handlebars and grips
replaced the foot pegs
installed the "farking unbelievable spark plugs"
installed K&N lunchbox
rejetted and cleaned carbs
15t front sprocket
removed the PAIR system
replaced fuel tank petcock
replace minor hoses, bolts, etc

still to do:
yoshi carbon fibre slip on
pinstripe wheels
replace control levers
front and rear suspension upgrades
replace turn signals

now on to the pics!!!

first what she used to look like including pics of scraped fairings

and how she looks now!

any suggestions or feedback would be welcome! also if anybody knows where i can get control levers anodized in blue or black id appreciate it!

Looking good. I hope you got a good deal due to the extent of the fairing damage.

What grips are those? They look familiar, but I can't place them.

You will find that many brake levers that fit your description will work on the Gs500, but unless you want to pay $125 per lever for LSL or ASV levers you will need to change the clutch perch to one from an SV650 or equivalent. For a little more information, check out the instructional videos regarding swapping your levers by adidasguy as well as the changing your handlebars by slipperymongoose.
It seems it has become necessary to qualify my posts:
